Can you still unlock the Galaxy skin in Fortnite?

In 2018, Samsun g announced a special partnership with Epic Games for the Android version of the game in accordance with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. People who pre-ordered the new smartphone between August 10 and August 23, 2018, were given a special offer: A choice between a pair of AKG noise-canceling headphones or 15,000 V-bucks and an exclusive Galaxy Fortnite skin. While that offer is no longer available, many are still wondering if you can unlock one of the best skins in battle royale.

Can you still unlock the Galaxy skin?

Unfortunately, the short answer is n o, you are no longer able to unlock the Galaxy skin for Fortnite. The offer is no longer available. In its place, though, Samsung began offering two other skin promotions. However, at the time of updating this, neither of those are available any longer either.

Those two other skins were the iKONIK and Glow skins. They were both offered in a similar promotion where customers who purchased select Samsung products could unlock these exclusive and wonderful cosmetic items. However, none of the three skins are available anymore, as reflected on the Samsung website.

That said, not all hope is lost. Given the strong connection between Epic Games and Samsung in the past with these three separate promotions, it is likely that a new one will release in the future. This could even happen with the launch of new products in early 2020 lik e the Samsung Galaxy S20.

How the Fortnite Galaxy skin was unlocked

To give you a heads up about what to expect in the future, here is how the Galaxy skin was originally unlocked when it was available. First, players had to own or buy a Galaxy Note 9 or Galaxy Tab S4. These were the only Samsung products eligible for the offer, but pre-ordering them was not required. It's important to note that Samsung limited the offer to one skin per mobile device, which means if a friend already redeemed the skin on their eligible phone or tablet, it couldn't be done again on that device.

With an eligible device, players had to download Fortnite from Galaxy Apps in the Samsung folder. The banner for it was found under the tab labeled "Games" in the store. Players could tap the banner and select to "install and open." This was followed by agreeing to the terms and conditions to finish installing the game. This also required having an Epic Games account to log in and register the skin.

Once the game was up and running, owners had to play three games of Fortnite on the device. It didn't matter if the player won or lost the games, they just had to return to the lobby after each respective match. This ensured that each match counted toward the three-game total.

After completing all that's listed above, the eligible players would receive a gift box with the Fortnite Galaxy skin inside after waiting approx imately one to two days. A similar process will likely be required if any future Fortnite-exclusive skin offers are released by Samsung and Epic Games.
